Second
Grade Showcase
In second grade, students are appyling what they have learned about the properties of matter to construct towers from simple solids. |
Fourth
Grade Showcase
Students in fourth grade are learning about the properties of magnets. Students sort various test objects into groups based on their magnetic attraction. |
Third
Grade Showcase
Third grade students are experimenting with how heat flows through matter. Students have learned that animals living in cold environments have adaptations such as blubber insulation to help them survive. Heat is quickly lost without insulation! |
Fifth
Grade Showcase
In fifth grade, students create a variety of pendulum systems to investigate which variable has the greatest effect on the swing of their pendulums. Throughout their investigations, students are mindful of the importance of controlling variables in order to ensure a "fair test". |
