My name is Peter Wittig.  I was born in Medellin, Colombia (South America!) in the previous century!  My parents were missionaries.  I grew up riding horses, playing soccer (futbol), fishing, and always being outside.  My parents moved to Indiana when I was entering the seventh grade.  It was in middle school where I learned to play football, basketball, wrestle, and run track.  I had great PE teachers.  They taught me many sports that I never had the opportunity to play.

In high school, I played football, soccer, and wrestled for my school, doing well in all three sports.  My high school PE teacher gave me the desire to teach physical education.  I decided that in college I would play soccer and study to be a physical education teacher.  I went to Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.  I graduated from Wheaton with a BS in physical education and a minor in social studies.  I was a tri-captain of the soccer team my senior year.  I got my Masters in Education from Northern Illinois University.

Even though I am no longer a kid, I still love to be outside.  Soccer is still one of my favorite sports, but I like to play most everything.  Riding my motorcycle and fixing up old cars are two of my hobbies.  The highlight of my week is ministering to the men at Kirkland Correctional Institute on Sunday afternoons.
